Let’s keep writing our story for the ancestors who paved the way and for the generations after us. We always wondered why our old schoolbooks barely mentioned Filipino Americans. Now as adults, we’ve been been on a journey to reclaim who we are and seek the stories of our ancestors. Because when stories are buried, so too is the wisdom and power that can be drawn from them. This year’s FAHM theme is “From Quotas to Communities: Filipino American Migration and Movement.” So today we’re sharing some key historical events that we learned about as we did some research into this theme.
