Detail shots of the two-level recessed wall.

I’m curious about space’s intangible, incoherent, or imperceptible qualities; how something can perform and impact without recognition, or at least without immediate or surface level recognition. I’m interested in rudimentary architectural forms for how they are expected within a space and, as a result, relegated to the background.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The recesses reveal black-and-white photographs of light; the first level recess revealing the most obvious illustration of light through a display of ceiling fixtures that reflect into and out of multiple sheets of acrylic, while the second level shows two photographs that compose light as the inverse of one another (they are of light peeking through strands of straightened hair - thank you @njovn - and a clear sky seen through a spiraling crack in glass) and a third photograph that sees ceiling tiles cascading towards a dark floor in increasing values of white and, seemingly, levels of opacity (this image was made of a recently vacated retail space).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m still working on the language for these gestures, but what stands out to me now is that these photographic compositions that “architecturalize” light complement a structure that physicalizes discretion.
