At some point in 1992, a model wore Fall 1992 Junior Gaultier boots in the covered passage at the Galerie Vivienne in Paris. I don’t know the context of this photo, but @jeanpaulgaultier is in the background sitting at a bistro table while others dined around him. To me, the scene has the vibe of an informal fashion show. Featuring frequently in Gaultier’s Fall 1992 runway show “Europe of the Future,” the boots the model wore were definite statement pieces: they were shaped like Wellington rain boots yet had the ankle straps usually seen on military boots. As for the ribbed wool trim of the top of the boots, that was reminiscent of the cuffs of a winter sweater. The model wore the boots with equestrian leggings, a ribbed knit top and a leather tea-length dress with an attached waistcoat detail and function pockets.
