I’m thrilled to share that Flamingo’s work online and in print was celebrated by our peers as some of the very best in the Sunshine State this past weekend. We took home four awards from the Florida Magazine Association including: Best Digital Magazine Website: Charlie Award for Flamingomag.com Best Writing Feature: Charlie Award for Moni Basu‘s piece, “Driving the Dixie Highway” & Bronze for Craig Pittman’s feature, “Cowboy Country” Best Writing In-Depth Reporting: Bronze for Craig Pittman’s story, “A Tale of the Two Toms and the Three K’s” I can’t tell you how proud I am of our entire team, who pour their talent and their hearts into creating content beloved by Floridians everywhere. So many wonderful things were said to me and our team about the design and quality of Flamingo from colleagues and people we admire in the industry that our team left the conference feeling inspired and uplifted! (My head barely fit through the office door this morning!) Thank you all! In addition, I’m honored to be named one of the newest board members of the Florida Magazine Association, and excited to work with such an amazing group of fellow storytellers.
