Uh oh I think I like mud racing! 😁 Pretty sure I had a smile on my face the majority of the day yesterday. Going into this race I didn’t really know what to expect. I was kind of dreading it because I didn’t know if my training in the mountains would translate (and unfortunately I don’t think it did). I knew it was gonna be painful. And it was! I have some new 90 minute and hour all-time HR records to show for that. An absolute downpour in the morning turned the course into a full on mudfest. As someone who lives in LA (which is just a glorified desert), surfing downhill through slop while also still at max heart rate was a new experience for me. But I kind of loved it. The feeling of being on the limit while also trying not to completely dump it...you can’t help but smile. It’s like being a little kid again! Thank you to the @lifetimegrandprix for including @cheqmtb in our series. I don’t know if I would’ve come to Wisconsin without it. What a blast! Would recommend.
