13 years. I was A MESS when I met him. People say relationships are hard. I have a theory. They’re only as complicated as we are. They’re only as challenging as we are with the right person. Who’s the right person? A person who acts out of love. The right person holds up a mirror to our BS. That reflection is uncomfortable. It’s full on ugly at times. We can deny what we see and project or we can accept it. HOW WE REACT- That’s what makes the difference for PROFOUND GROWTH and development and deeper love. At different times we have to actually see who we TRULY ARE. Not who we think we are. In all great stories in history, prominent figures had to leave the palace, paradise (Jesus, Buddha, alladem) etc to test who they are and who they want to be and to explore what it means to be human. What I take from these stories is we have to leave the palace of our own creation, see if it’s truly solid and if the foundation is sound. So easy to perform niceness, even kindness, even love to the uninitiated but putting that foundation under pressure and seeing what happens...now that’s a whole different story. Go besfren.
