nok/alara pop up in accra december 2019. bai dj’ed. yacynthe cooked. it was one of the last nok events before the pandemic came and everything changed. yacynthe took me aside and told me to snap him. of course i obliged. i’m feeling very thankful today for the portraits i have of the people i love ❤️‍🔥 i found it really hard to understand the level of dedication yacynthe had to alara and nok. we called him mr alara. he stepped up like i had never seen before, took on responsibility, made nok his own. the more confident he got, the higher his chef’s hat got 😅 i remember on a random day when we had an event he messaged me saying ‘this is a special day for me’. i asked, ‘is it your birthday?’ it wasn’t, it was just another day that he got to do what he loved. work aside he was just the warmest person in the room, always smiling, always wanting to make sure you were okay. chef! the ultimate happy medium between @renoflife, 1/3 of my favourite dream team. the higher the hat the closer to heaven 😇
