Reminders for this new week.
1. I’ve only just started introducing seeing some natural sunlight when possible to my mornings and my goodness it’s a delight. Opening the curtains or shutters as soon as we wake up helps to let our bodies know it’s time to rise & take on the day.
2. I also tend to drink coffee on an empty stomach and have noticed trading that for a big glass of water first & having my coffee a bit later leaves my system + brain feeling clearer & less groggy (counterintuitive I know!). Little hack is to leave a bottle of water by the bed so it’s easy to remember in the morning. If your feeling indulgent — consider a warm cup of tea or warm water with ginger.
3. Moments of gratitude in the morning set us up to notice simple pleasures throughout the day. We enter the day from a place of warmth where the rest that follows is an additional gift.
4. Intent is like the rudder of our lives that guides where our boat will go during the day. Where do you have yours set? Or are you leaving it to the conditions of the wind?
5. & finally a word of appreciation for ourselves is to acknowledge something we love or enjoy about who we are or how we are showing up in the word. It’s a little nod that you are doing a good job 👏🏼 and to find something to be proud of.
Sharing a word of appreciation for another is to acknowledge something they do that is meaningful to us or others. Take a moment to send a text, a message or comment on something you may have otherwise left unsaid. Good things deserve acknowledgement & sometimes we need a lil reminder that effort doesn’t go unnoticed.
It doesn’t have to be all five each and every morning. Every little effort adds up over time, so just whenever you get a chance 💛
