I think this is the Florida Predatory Stinkbug and would love an accurate ID if anyone knows for sure. If it is, this is the northernmost edge of its range and it is considered a beneficial insect. Although it sometimes does this to a bumblebee, which is sad, it is still considered a beneficial bug because it kills more “pest” insects than beneficial ones. And anything I would do to try and get rid of this predatory bug would harm more “good” bugs at the same time. I have hundreds if not thousands of native bees in my yard that I provide food and shelter for, and that I dont harm with pesticides or herbicides.
