" I've been asked a few times ‘what is a lighting test?’. Well there is no myth or clever answer here, as a lighting test is exactly what it states. Its a test photo you take of your subject to see where the light falls on their face (if you're a portrait photographer obvs), and to make sure you have the effect you want or there are not major issues. I mainly use it to see where the shadows fall, as shade is just as important as light.
