Let's cut to the chase, I GOT ART IN WALT DISNEY WORLD Y'ALL!!!!!!!!! Wow, a theme park 🥺😩🙌🏾 The piece, titled “The Black Family” is located in Disney Springs at Walt Disney World (FL) There's a bunch of reasons why this project is extremely special to me and it's truly a full circle moment: 2012: I did a professional development program with Disney where I worked in FL at the park for months. I worked in food and beverage, and I couldn't understand how dropping fries straight out of college with two degrees was going to get me closer to my creative career path lmao. God had a plan though.🤞🏾 2013: With Disney on my resume I landed an internship at Walt Disney Imagineering, which is what brought me to the west coast. I thought THAT was the "full circle" moment. Again, God knew. 🥹🙌🏾 God really spun the block for me and made it crystal clear why those experiences were needed. The same people that I worked with during my time at Imagineering brought me on this project. Icing on the cake: in all my Disney experiences I never saw US, I never really went to the parks as a child, never really saw us reflected anywhere. So it was important for me to create what I want to see at Disney World. I want us to see us, I want to see Black families in a special light. I thank God everyday for the gift I have to create it. This is so incredibly special to me and I hope when y’all hit the park you feel it too. 🌹 Special thanks to Disney and the team at Imagineering for tapping me for this, means the world.
