Join today's #ArchivesHashtagParty and examine this historic postcard that Henry Clay Frick sent to his daughter Helen while he was traveling abroad in August 1904.
The card commemorates a luncheon hosted by the French artist Théobald Chartran at his villa on the Île de Salagnon in Lake Geneva. It's signed by other guests, including caricaturist Albert Guillaume and Charles Carstairs, one of Frick's art dealers. Chartran painted various commissions for Frick, including portraits of Helen and his other daughter Martha, fellow industrialists Andrew Carnegie and Thomas Mellon, and Henry Clay Frick's own portrait in 1896.
