One of the biggest misconceptions is that you don’t need a professional Wedding Planner, and I’m here to tell you, you do. When your wedding party goes rogue or one of your vendors needs a little extra support, who ya gonna call? 👻
When you’re looking for a Planner or Coordinator, don’t just be looking for these things:
• Who’s aesthetic preferences mirror your own
• Who has already serviced a real wedding at your venue
• Who you can kiki with, or who seems to play well with others
• Who you could afford
The single most underrated, but also MOST important trait to look for in a Wedding Planner is their ability to be authoritative. We need a team captain, not a cheerleader; read it again.
Okay, but what if you’re saying to yourself, “Self. We’re having a small wedding, we don’t really *need* a Planner.” WRONG! At minimum, reach out to a local Planner and inquire about their consultation services for a two hour touch-base about the specifics of your wedding (e.g., things to be mindful of when planning a successful event- keeping in mind your venue, weather, and potential areas of concern).
For the 2023 wedding season and into the foreseeable future, I will only be taking weddings with professional Planners and Coordinators on the vendor team; that’s how strongly I believe in them.
So, let’s hear from you! Couples, who is a Wedding Planner you 11/10 recommend? Vendors, ever been asked at a wedding to take on responsibilities that are not your job? (🤣😒) Planners, anything I forgot? After all, you would know! 🪄📓💻💍
