21 months ago, when I found out I was pregnant, I knew it felt important to integrate my fitness life and motherhood life together, but I didn’t know how joyful and challenging this balancing act would be.
—
My bestie felt every breathless workout while I was pregnant. She also tagged along with every postpartum workout. Jade only napped when I baby wore her, so, for the first few months of her life, I exclusively did BODYSTEP in her nursery with the cutest 8 pound weighted vest.
—
So, when I found out I’d be presenting at #LesMillsLive, I initially freaked out. I could barely get a 30 minute workout in each week. How was I supposed to “bounce back” into my pre-baby fitness?
—
Rather than falling into the extremes, I chose to embrace the middle, both motherhood and fitness side by side. No more all or nothing mentality. No more 2 hour back-breaking workouts and no more sedentary living. No more macro counting and no more nasty ass foods. Motherhood really does makes the whole idea of “cutting” seem so insignificant when you consider that dieting directly results in under-producing breastmilk for your baby.
—
Thank you to my best friend for teaching me the hard lesson on how to live a balanced, full life. I’ll never “bounce back” to who I used to be because I’m a better version of me now.
