How do you feed your pleasure?
Do you surround yourself with colors that bring you joy, pause to notice the juicy taste of a strawberry, the scent of fresh cut flowers or the sensual touch of your hand caressing your skin?
The senses are a wonderful way to nourish your pleasure - focus on smell, taste, touch, sound and visuals. Spend time engaging with your senses, and discovering which senses light you up, make you tingle and feel alive.
It really doesn’t matter what you do, but what does matter is bringing mindful attention to the things that bring you pleasure, so you can consciously cultivate more of it.
Take a breath, soften your shoulders and focus on the things that enliven you – make those your priority, and enjoy them with full awareness. Notice what happens in your body when you do those things. All of this helps us to orient towards feeling good – it is a process of enrichment, and turning up the awareness of beneficial experiences.
Widening the definition of pleasure can make more available to us. It can expand our capacity to experience pleasure, creating new pleasure pathways to experience more day to day pleasure, sensuality and yes s*xual pleasure.
Everyone of us is wired to experience pleasure – It is our birthright.
