Riot police fired tear gas on crowds in Paris today as members of the Kurdish community protested over a shooting that killed three near a Kurdish cultural centre.
A 69-year-old former rail worker who was already facing trial for racist violence shot dead three people and wounded three more at the Ahmet Kaya Centre on the rue d’Enghien in the 10th arrondissement and in a Kurdish café near by.
The shooting triggered panic and protests in the ethnically mixed area near the Gare de l’Est station.
