#howtomake Cinnamon Rolls 💓
I don’t think I can ever have a bakery cinnamon roll after trying the homemade one 🤤 And I’m sure y’all will feel the same 🙌🏻
INGREDIENTS
Dough -
Yeast mixture :
- 70g dry active yeast
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 3/4 cup lukewarm water
- 1 egg + 1 egg yolk
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 3 cups plain flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 4 tbsp melted butter (unsalted)
Filling:
- 2 tbsp cinnamon powder
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter (room temp)
Frosting:
- 113g cream cheese (room temp)
- 2 tbsp heavy cream
- 3/4 cup icing sugar
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter (room temp)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
METHOD:
- Prepare the yeast mixture separately by mixing all three ingredients in a bowl and cover for 10 mins.
- In a big mixing bowl, add flour, sugar, butter, eggs, salt and the yeast mixture and mix using a spatula. Knead for 8-10 until a soft dough is formed. Transfer to a lightly floured bowl and cover and let it rest for an hour or so until it rises and doubles in size.
- Meanwhile prepare the filling and frosting separately.
- Remove the cover and punch down gently. Transfer to a floured surface and knead for 5 mins again. Then roll it and add the filling.
- Fold the dough tightly and cut 2 inch pieces using a thread/floss for a clean cut. Transfer to a baking dish and let it rest for 30 mins covered.
- Spread heavy cream on top and bake for 25 mins at 175C. Remove, let it cool for 10 mins and then spread the frosting on top. Enjoy!
