I am so beyond grateful you guys have no idea. My team and my coaches are some of the best people in my life and I’m so thankful I get to call these people my teammates. I was pretty disappointed in the tournament really felt like it should have been split up into two days since SO many people didn’t get to compete in nogi. But I won’t harp on that anymore. It was my first time competing in Gi so I can definitely feel the difference and how much more tiring it is. Not comfortable with grips entirely but I still think I managed myself pretty well. I didn’t give up a whole lot and I only lost my first match by two point in the very end, second match just lost on a technical mistake and got arm barred. But when nogi rolled around and there was still one competitor there in my bracket we both fucking went at it. I got redemption and won both of the nogi matches via Americana. A corrected mistake from the first match against her. Also wanted to say HUGE respect for her for sticking around and having a good attitude about our nogi matches she was there for the experience and wanted to compete just as I did. Nothing on anybody who left early I totally understand why you did, as I said before it’s the tournaments fault for not splitting it up into 2 days. But I’m glad I got a shot to compete in Nogi. @tayloraalyssa my girl fucking KILLED IT AS USUAL. Her performance was incredible and took gold in both divisions youre an absolute monster GF and and I’m so lucky you are my teammate so so so happy for you.
