For the better part of the year, I’ve been working with cookbook author and NY Times columnist Yewande Komolafe on a very special book, titled ‘My Everyday Lagos,’ a distillation of her perspective and philosophy on Nigerian cuisine (and culture). One of the strange tensions of social media: there is a façade of (over) sharing; but the truth is, very little is revealed in most respects. I am months away from being able to share anything tactile that would show the breath and scope of this incredible and wildly unconventional book. But it’s a project that I’ve been working on a weekly for months. So what I’m ‘reduced’ to showing is a photograph taken yesterday in New York City, with this very special human being, someone who I have had the giddy pleasure of collaborating with on a project that I can declare is one of the best things I have ever designed. And in all the ways that count, this is the most perfect thing I could possibly share right now. Thank you for the photo, NR.
