This month our young people's programme is back with not one but two free free 8 week workshops for 13-18 year olds in Lambeth. These fun and interactive sessions give young people the chance to learn how to use the arts to express issues of gender equality and social change, and discover more about festival making. They'll gain experience in creating work, leadership, activism, production and more; and work with amazing professional artists and producers. If you or someone you know someone who would love to join, here's all the info: There's two options on offer to apply for now: The Brixton Youth Theatre sessions on Saturdays (from 24th September, 10.30am-12.30pm) are open to young people aged 13-18 of all genders and will focus on Spoken Word. Participants will work with a professional spoken word artist to write their own pieces, and with a professional producer to decide how to showcase their work. The Ashdon Jazz Academy sessions on Thursdays (from 29th September, 4.30-6.30pm) are open to girls and non-binary young people aged 13-18 and will focus on Making and Craftivism (crafts and activism!). Participants will work with artists and makers to create their own pieces, and work with a professional producer to decide how to showcase their work.
