Does your dog have a purpose?! This is such a simple question, but definitely made so much harder than it needs to be. Why made hard? Because our society has turned dog ownership into an emotional money grabbing business. The more we humanize our dogs the more money big brands make, and the more we hurt our dogs. Having a dog is suppose to be a partnership. Both sides are to benefit and grow. And as much as our intentions as owners come from a good place, majority of what we are doing is for us and not our dog. Are you contributing to your dogs growth? Let us help with understanding growth and giving your dog a purpose in which was meant for them. •Training (rather professional or at home) •A sport~ they have sports for all your dogs that can range from competition to leisure. •Independence (are you taking time out when not interacting with your dog to give them and yourselves space) •Outings~ are you making time to expose your dog to new and old things, and engaging with them. Not just having them at the end of a leash. •Pushing through thresholds~ so many times we find our dogs weakness and we run from it. Then we wonder why our dogs can’t achieve certain things. And at the end of the day some things we can’t run from. Growth is about pushing through and making uncomfortable, comfortable. •Material things~ many of us just want to spoil our dogs. And even in the word ‘spoil’ we put our dogs in a human category. We aren’t saying that all the toys in the world is a bad thing, however let’s look at what we can do with those toys to help growth. Rather interacting, building excitement, make a game out of it like hide n seek. Clothes, well this is truly just for us owners, yet there’s things we could buy our pups that they can wear that truly help, like shoes for hikes, beach days, hot days. Or goggles, because we protect our eyes let’s help our dogs do the same. •Jobs and Task At the end of the day we must remind ourselves that our furry companions have needs as well, and not the human type of needs but dog type. They thrive off of doing. And most importantly they thrive off of doing with us their owners✌🏾
