Controversial influencer, Andrew Tate, was arrested Thursday for human trafficking and rape allegations. Tate is an online personality known for his ‘hyper-masculine’ persona and misogynistic videos. After a Twitter feud with activist, Greta Thunberg, the former kickboxer and his brother were detained in Romania for alleged involvement in organized human trafficking of at least six women and sexual exploitation. After news of the detainment broke out, theories of the Twitter fight helping authorities to locate Tate began to circulate online. In an angry response to one of Thunberg's tweets, Tate posted a video to his account where multiple pizza boxes from a Romanian pizza chain were featured. According to a Romanian news site, the police were watching Tate’s social media in order to confirm his location in the country. Many online speculators believe that the public Twitter spat may have given authorities what they needed to detain the influencer and his brother.
