Steeped in rich history and boasting views of The Washington Monument, The Hay-Adams is the embodiment of a stately American residence. The hotel was built on the original site of two 19th-Century homes owned by neighbors (and close friends) John Hay–Secretary of State under both Presidents Mckinley and Theodore Roosevelt–and Henry Adams, a historian and descendant of Presidents John Adams and John Quincy Adams. The property was torn down and converted into a hotel in 1927, however original wood paneling from Hay's home is just one of the many historic details repurposed and featured as part of the current property. #LHWtraveler #leadinghotelsoftheworld #thehayadamshotel #washingtondc #usa
