I spent my entire young adult life being unkind to myself, not really appreciating myself, my body or all the wonderful things we are able to do. Every now and then I still find myself not being gentle in the way I speak with my body.. some of you will say it’s easy for me to do so.. but the truth is that we live in a society that it’s constantly stimulating to compare to others, to buy the next best thing.. when in reality being kind to ourselves, truly appreciating who we are - with all our flaws, all our curves, all our scars, and every single quality we have - It’s the boldest thing we can do. Next time you catch yourself being unkind, think: “what would you say to your best friend?” And say that to yourself. We are usually kinder to others than to us. Go for that workout, or yoga class, or go to the park and feel Mother Nature, do that not to lose weight or get fit, but notice how good, and proud you get at the end of each practice. Remind yourself that you are beautiful, you are strong, you are capable, you are enough! Be Kind!
