Yesterday, Thanks to Lucy Yu of @yuandmebooks I had the pleasure of meeting Senator @maziehirono at the @apexforyouth holiday pop up market. She is the first Asian American woman in the Senate and has been an important voice for the AAPI community. Thanks to Senator Hirono and Rep Grace Meng the COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act passed last year. It was very cool to inform Senator HIrono that the @juliachildfoundation has just given Honolulu’s Chinatown $10,000 in grant money! I showed her the photos from @chefhuihi @singcheongyuanbakery and Royal Kitchen. Also so pleased to tell her about my partnership with @beardfoundation for our new social media campaign #SupportChinatowns which aims to highlight local restaurants and mom and pop businesses in Chinatowns nationwide. #LoveAAPI
