Gaslighting can happen abruptly or subtly and overtime.
It is a form of psychological abuse in which a person or group of people causes someone to question their own sanity, memory, or perception of reality. People who experience gaslighting likely feel confused, anxious, or as though they cannot trust themselves. Overtime, it can create anxiety, depression and can trigger other mental health challenges.
Some people unintentionally make statements like the one in this image by @crazyheadcomics & it’s important to take accountability & learn to communicate boundaries.
