The past year of my life has been nothing short of spectacular. This was a dream I didn’t even know I had 5 years ago, and yet when I began this journey my heart just knew it was in God’s plan for me. Being the 84th Miss North Carolina and the third Black woman to hold the title has been the biggest honor I could have asked for. It was a year filled with beauty, difficultly, growth, magic, and so much love. From beginning to end, this experience was surreal! I hope my story shows the power of a dream, the value of hard work, the strength found in loving your own body, and the importance of representation. It is bittersweet for this beautiful journey to come to an end, but I am eternally grateful to have been given the gift of serving North Carolina in this way. What a true blessing this was.
