For over a year now I’ve been studying photographic art at the @docdocdoc.ru school of modern photography. And as part of my studies, I’ve been working on a book about more than 100 years of horrible Russian history through the eyes of my family. My great-grandmother Milya told me that her brother Konstantin was imprisoned for picking up three stalks of wheat that were laying in a field. Then — she did not know how — he became paralyzed while in prison. When he was released, she brought her bedridden brother to live with her in her small room. .
