Through a strange quirk of history and circumstance, my husband is a member of the Royal Company of Archers - the Queen’s ceremonial bodyguard in Scotland. Here’s how he spent last night (front left): standing vigil at the foot of her coffin in St Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh. (Grainy pic off the telly, sorry!)
