To mark Women’s History Month, @sage.foundation presents #JustAGirl, an emotive short film which explores the multifaceted problems that lie behind the epidemic of child marriage in Nigeria. Filmed in Lagos, we share the stories and the voices of some of the brave young women who were forced to marry too young, and the extraordinary individuals & grassroots organizations that dedicate their lives to supporting them. They aim to drive change so the girls can reclaim their futures, but also to abolish the laws that allow this to happen without consequence. Directed by @easykhan_easygo , our visceral film echoes the brutal and fragile nature of their stories and sheds light on an issue that affects 44% of Nigerian girls before they reach their 18th birthday.
