While visiting Liv in DC, I walked 4 miles this afternoon to politely and quietly take a gander and a few pictures of the Dischord house. More than his music, Ian Mackaye's views on Punk Rock as a gift rather than a commodity have LONG been super influential on me. So much so that in our upcoming film Wrong Reasons, not only is the meaning of Punk Rock critical to the theme and storyline, not only did I dedicate the film to him (and Henry Rollins), I made sure that everyone that worked on the flick had more points than I do (for you non-film folk, that means I own less shares of this film than the rest of the production team). Though I obviously hope this film does well for our financiers and my friends who offered their time, my gift was to make the film in the first place and maybe offer my two cents on what Punk Rock is at its best and could be if we kicked out the greedy fucks in the industry. This music means everything to me. It's as close to a religion as I have. Once Wrong Reasons finds its home, whether a film fest, DVD, streaming, or the inevitable pirating/torrenting of the film (which I don't discourage), I can't wait for you all to see the movie I started writing over 7 years ago. I'm not allowed to show you the poster yet (which is sick as shit and was directed by someone FAR more talented than I, though I can't say who yet) but I will show you the title treatment by Nick Dellaposta.
