This was by far the most viewed and commented upon Insta story I've ever posted, and it's not even close 😂, so i thought I'd share a tale about possessing the shirt: I was walking around a very sad deserted mall in Laughlin, NV to escape the suffocating heat w/ @spencercullumjr and @g.maxwell_ before a gig, and we stumbled into one of the only open shops, an oasis in the desert, a Hot Topic (or was it a Spencer's Gifts 🤔 🤷‍♂️). It was immediately apparent that we were suspiciously too old to be in there. On the wall was a selection of @stevenrhodesart shirts with all kinds of fun mildly edgy things involving aliens and devil worshipping and cat demons, etc., and they were on sale if you bought them in bundles of 3 or 5 or 15 or whatever that was too tantalizing to pass up. So we tried on an array of stylings, posing and giggling and taking selfies and acting way too excited, and I cannot to this day tell you if that excitement was ironic or sincere (I suspect both). I walked by two tweenagers trying to find a mirror and they snickered in disbelief, and said to me "hey bro, the, uh, huh, tag is still on your, uh, huh, your, huh, shirt" before bursting into uncontrollable laughter at my mere existence. Which dissuaded me from buying the Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness shirt I was trying on at that moment. But the galvanizing reminder of time passing us all by with every waking forthcoming second was enough to validate our decision to buy way too many shirts and spend way too much money that day.
