There is an old saying: Whether it be sweat, tears or the sea... Saltwater heals all. After an incredibly tragic few months, I travelled back to a place dear to me: Central Nicaragua - with a small crew of incredible friends to reconnect with the humbling, healing power of the ocean. The trip exceeded every expectation I had and I can’t thank those who were a part of it enough. Of course, we were at nature’s whim, but moments of sublime glory were everywhere; surfing alone with only our crew in sheet glass conditions, a trapped and dying sea turtle finding our boat for help, a yellow butterfly gliding down the face of a wave as I paddled behind it, a feast of the finest bounty the sea could offer. Too many moments to list, and after so many months of tears and isolation, a welcomed return to laughter and friendship. Back home now, picking up the pieces of what music I have left to give you all. Ready to forge forward and finish a few things. Ready to start some things new. The best part of burying your best friend at sea is that he’s always with me on these adventures. And I know he loves it. To the crew, Carlos, Kanon, Brendan, Casey and Jason. To my Nicaraguan brothers from another mother Alex, Jersson and Luis. To my home away from home in Nicaragua, Casa La Barra and el patron Dave. Thank you all. For everything. And to all of you out there for your continued concern. I’m ok. Slowly. Ok. 🙏🏽💙
