📢 Grant Spotlight! The Cisarua Learning Centre (CRLC) is a refugee-led center that provides refugees in Indonesia a place to share educational opportunities and resources with each other. In 2021, GO partnered with the center to provide funds to assist CRLC in launching a mental health program for refugees. A community needs survey was conducted that revealed community members to be experiencing mental health issues such as feelings of anxiety, depression, worthlessness, and more. Cisarua has 20 teachers that are referred to as “first responders.” GO Campaign grant funds made it possible to train these teachers and other community members to provide peer counseling and support for thousands of refugee children and families during the worst period of the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia, as well as during an influx of refugees from Afghanistan. GO Campaign also enabled teachers to provide positive outlets for refugee youth through art therapy, sports, team building activities, and more.
