if you only ever engage with one post of mine, i pray it is this one. if you have 5 minutes, i am begging you to watch this — and to consider sharing afterwards. this is our opportunity take back what it means to be “pro-life” from those who don’t give a shit about life — and to instead center the intersectional voices of diverse young people who are demanding the systemic change necessary to actually set our generation up to survive, to thrive. #GenZisProLiving — and it is so disgusting that we live in America where we even have to create a hashtag to assert that, where we have to lobby “leaders” to end preventable cycles of violence/injustice. after Uvalde, Roe being overturned, and on-going rhetoric that gaslights into believing that better isn’t possible — i asked myself, is there anything i can even do? we’ve marched, donated, advocated, cried, screamed — but we are still here, still having to ask folks to *do something.* giving up isn’t an option though, so i came up with this idea — that perhaps *at least* we could reclaim what it means to care about life, that perhaps we could disrupt somehow to inspire change. that we could tap into our privilege/access/skills to make folks think/speak/act differently. so, we, @juvconsulting, got to work to do just that — funding, producing, creating this. and @toriromo’s cinematographic excellence gives me chills every time i watch it — and she did this alongside our brilliant team @daniel_ojo @kennedy.daniell @stephanie.gong @shainazafar @jamiepixx @olivia.frary @ansongilbert. so much love also to my friends/teachers who lent their voices/vulnerability to us — it’s an honor to be in community with you all. this is also only possible thanks to partners who gave us space, advice, and amplification when we needed it most <3 i have truly maybe never been more proud of anything than this work. this isn’t just about this video though — this is about channeling our anger into action, which you can do via comingofrage.com, where we have compiled movements/resources that we can follow the lead of as we figure out where to go from here. may we come of age with a rage that results in the change we need to see in the world.
