Pride is as much of a celebration as it is a fight for equality and liberation. Without celebration, we can lose sight of what we’re fighting for. It felt so good, after a night of marching and shutting down avenues, to gather with my chosen family and broader community to celebrate kink, art, play, and pleasure. Seeing nearly everyone I love gathered in one space dressed to the nines was so special. It goes without saying but I love this community so much. And then to march, once again, with the same people who just hours before were dancing in Pleasers, latex, and leather, for queer liberation was my by far favorite part of Pride. And the cherry on top? Running into my midwife at *both* marches. 🥹 Seeing my healthcare provider marching alongside me (and likely many more of her clients) was exactly what I needed to not feel completely hopeless about the future of this country.
