Opening nights are rather special at The Constant Now, for they come with a live performance. For the group show 'No Images' we had not one but two guests. After Sadrie Alves sang an introduction, Rose-Myrtha Vercammen and Céline Gaza presented 'Matrigenesis'. 'The visual imagery of the poem by William Waring Cuney is what attracted me the most, as it contains an ecological aspect and an ecological critique. It resonates with my difficulties connecting with nature and spirit in urban areas. 'Matrigenesis' is about reclaiming and regenerating that connection. It acknowledges how our bodies are sacred portals connecting us to our ancestry and spirit.
