I tried @moribyan’s volcano shrimp, and it didn’t disappoint!! For those who live in Dallas, it reminded me of the Aspen roll from Mr. Sushi! I just made a minor change, as we all do when trying recipes! Instead of dredging the shrimp in egg before the cornstarch, I just skipped the egg. It’s how I make salt and pepper shrimp! While it doesn’t need the egg, if you want more batter, then feel free to use the egg! Also, the first time I made this, I skipped the butter on accident, and it still tasted delicious! So if you don’t want to add the extra fat, feel free to leave it out. I also topped it with furikake seasoning (seaweed + sesame seeds) but that’s totally optional. 🤗 Tips when frying: Temperature should consistently be 350F when frying or else it will not get crispy.
