For the next 4 weeks, @leeinitiative is operating these 4 Farmers Markets in Eastern, KY in partnership with @appalachian.ky @farmallianceky @northforklocalfood @wckitchen These local ingrediemts are being offered FREE to any families in need. Please come and take what you need, no questions asked, and help us distribute to any neighbors who cannot come. Any remaining produce goes to CANE kitchen in our continuing efforts to help flood victims. This is what a local system of relief looks like. We are using local farms to feed our neighbors and families, local kitchens who employ local employees. Perry County Farmers Market Manager says "I firmly believe a local food network is what's really going to save us." We agree and our efforts are part of larger system that is meant to create long term positive change. Thank you to everyone who has joined us volunteering, donating and sending us messages of hope. This is going to be a long and difficult path to recovery and we need all the help we can get. #KYStrong
