Swiss artist Douglas Mandry was invited by La Prairie on an expedition in the Swiss Alps led by Professor Farinotti, ETH's Professor of Glaciology, to discover and discuss the impact of climate change on the glaciers. Thanks to pioneering scanning tools, he explored glacier-melt induced cavities and generated 3D models of them to serve as moulds for sculptures. The results of this visionary work, "Gravity Flow Fragmented", made from 100% recycled glass handblown in Switzerland, will be featured at the 2022 edition of West Bund Art & Design in Shanghai. As part of La Prairie's sustainable journey, the carbon impact from both installations was neutralised in collaboration with Climeworks.
