It’s not about what you are capable of, it’s about staying within your pace range or effort range for that run
It’s common to hear “I could have gone faster” or “I feel like I’m not as tired” when you learn to slow down because your effort level is lower than what you were used to
But this is actually a good thing. Just because you can run faster, doesn’t mean you always should
