~ This week has been a dream that I’ve been dreaming for many years now. There has been so many bumps in my journey to get me to where I am but am so grateful to share with everyone a look into the experience I got to have for FW 2022! In the beginning of my wanting to become a model and working towards what I’ve experienced this far, I was under the impression that to succeed in this industry I’d need to fit the sample. That to do runway I’d need to be a size 0-2. It has been a long 3 years of trying to understand how that was not the case. I’ve come out of this box of thought into a bigger space of acknowledging, if the client doesn’t like my size that’s their issue and that it’s not about the individual. You should NEVER apologize for the pants not fitting, the shirt being too small and just anything not being quite right because apologizing for something you cannot physically control is unfair to yourself. Uncomfortably forcing your body to change for a job, an agency, a client, whoever it may be, is cruel to the authenticity of you. We are merging into a space for fashion where inclusivity is important and necessary. I convinced myself for so long that at my maintained weight I’d never be on a runway. After dramatically losing 60 pounds, COVID, to then gaining 40 pounds to become a healthy me again, I’m here. I’ve accomplished a giant goal for myself at the healthy size I am and have grown out of this small box of naivety I made for myself. Instead I’ll be making strides for inclusivity on and off the runway. Thank you to every single person, in person and not, who has been here to support me. Everyone’s love, care and support has never gone unnoticed. I will forever be grateful to my agents, my friends and my family for pushing me to where I am and their overall undying love and support. I cannot say enough thanks to everyone for all your kind words and wishes. ~
