I’ve been friends with Todd for over 35 years. Yes, it’s a long time. Skateboarding brought us together back in the day, but we ended up drifting apart and I didn’t hear anything from him for years until I started seeing things pop up on instagram about the @sardinepedro Eventually I drove down to San Pedro to see what’s going on, only to learn that Todd and his friends have put together a real cool music venue. The minute you walk inside the place has a great vibe! With skate decks lining the walls along with other art, selling vinyl records, friendly staff working behind the bar. Not to mention, great bands playing nightly in the other room and Todd being the club owner, all of his bands play there often. The Sardine also has a large outdoor patio area where you can kickback, have a beer, smoke a cig, and chat with your friends. Todd also runs his record label @recessrecords and a distribution company @recess_ops_distro out of the venue, making the must of this space. Pretty cool! What I learned Todd is juggling a lot different things in his life and after everything I witnessed. I was like I really need to be documenting whats going on here and make this into an episode of #RelentlessOnes. He’s doing great things for the local community and the Los Angeles music scene.
