I talk a lot about how it takes a village to raise kids, but the village isn’t free anymore. Sometimes, we have to also be the village in order to build one outside of the one we pay for. If you know a mom who just had a baby, here are a few ways you can support her: • A care package is nice, but if you can’t do that, your time is more than enough. • Show up and offer to clean. • Make her a meal. • Watch the baby while she takes a nap (if she trusts you). • Invite her on a walk. • Or simply just be there. • Help clean up around the house Postpartum moms are often overthinking and going through so much. Sometimes just a real conversation with someone outside of “baby talk” makes all the difference. I’m so glad I was able to show up for my friend this way. Honestly, the time we spent cleaning and chatting meant even more to me than everything I bought her.
