Words and video from @edgarsmission👇 1 year ago Rammie Baa Baa received the best Christmas present ever! 🐑❤️ This sweet sheep was surrendered into our care one year ago today, suffering from a condition rarely seen in his species. His scrotum had swollen to a massive 40+ kilo burden that had come to drag painfully between his back legs. Into the mix of woes for this gentle fellow was blindness – we learned, as a result of a difficult birth, which claimed the life of his dear Mumma. However, this did not prevent us from seeing him as an animal who was worthy of compassion, kindness, and tender loving care. ✨ Although fearing the worst and that nothing might assist this dear ram, we set to work to find someone who could help. The team from Goulburn Valley Equine Clinic and Romsey Veterinary Surgery, (plus our two blood donor companion sheep Lemonade and Spartacus), assisted Rammie Baa Baa, with the utmost skill, to relieve him of the burdensome mass. With a surgery lasting over 4 hours so unprecedented in his species, requiring an anaesthetic which always comes with some degree of risk, and with the danger of blood loss and shock high, it is a miracle he made it this far. This most stoic of sheep has made the most massive of impressions in our barn, in our lives, and in our hearts. And 1 year ago today, received the best Christmas present of all – his life. 🙏
