From the event description: The Seth Trachy trio explores and interprets the music of Ornette Coleman, Charlie Parker, and the Baka Pygmies of Cameroon, and through original compositions, investigates the shared musical languages of these wide-ranging influences. Seth was raised on a farm in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains and spent his childhood exploring the Appalachian wilderness and absorbing the soulful sounds of Sam Cooke and Otis Redding from his father’s record collection. Seth is currently a member of Gabriel Guerrero’s Quantum band. He has recorded his adaptations of Baka music with his group, Zygmon, a release that features Miguel Zenon.
