NEW WORK / GOOD EARTH COTTON This is my 26th year as a career photographer - I've now spent over half my life working in my chosen vocation. Over those years, I've specialised in & have adapted to different genres to remain relevant in an ever-changing industry. 2015 was a career-defining moment when I took the plunge to have my first solo Art Exhibition: 'Without Water', a macro study of dried florals. Seven years on, I am humbled that these works have remained timeless, attracting new customers to this day. However, the impact on my Commercial Photography career has been an unexpected but welcome surprise... My current niche, described by a fellow photographer recently as 'the holy grail', is where Art & Commerce converge. This is now my 'happy place', and I am grateful to those who allow me the freedom to 'do my thing'. A case in point is a recent shoot for @goodearthcotton the world's first climate-positive, traceable cotton; committed to reducing the cotton industry's global impact. With extensive years of industry know-how, the Statham family have been leaders in revolutionising cotton farming as we know it, resulting in the world's first carbon-positive cotton crop. Joint founder Danielle Statham stumbled upon one of my Fine Art Prints from my 'Without Water' Exhibition Series while visiting a garment factory in Vietnam. She subsequently tracked me down & commissioned me to create bespoke artistic still life images of their cotton plants. The above image is the first release from the series.
