BOWIE THING – #181 - MICK ROCK’S THRO’WAYPOSTER “I’ve come on a few years, From my Hollywood highs...” For today’s BOWIE THING we’re looking at an outtake from a fifty-year-old @therealmickrock session that will be very familiar to you. You’ll recognise the images here as being from the famous Beverly Hills Hotel session from October 1972. But, as we’ve said before, back then photographers would often supply originals rather than duplications. It seems the last image here (a poster produced by THRO’WAY POSTERS in 1973), is another of those original images sent by Mick. We can’t find this exact shot in any of his publications or anywhere else other than on this poster...unless you know otherwise? Either way, this is a hard one to find so perhaps people took the throwaway suggestion seriously. If you still have one that you paid 25p for (or £1 for five), you invested well.
