My Nikkah 🤍💍🌸 My husband joked up until the wedding that we were already legally married so the Nikkah was no big deal. When I finally sat across from him with our friends and family watching, he was overcome with emotion and realized the gravity of the moment. We were getting married... for real this time. I reached my hand through the floral curtain to comfort him as we listened to the words of guidance from the molvi who married us. If you notice, my veil has the words “Musafir hain hum bhi musafir ho tum bhi, kisi mod par phir mulagat hogi” beaded in pearls. The quote means “Just as I am a traveler, so are you. We will meet again at some bend in the road.” Zeb saw this quote three years ago, after I had stopped replying to his messages (because he was a stranger on the internet). He felt strongly that our story had more to it, and that we would reconnect again in the future (we did a couple days later and ... you know the rest of the story). This ceremony was more beautiful than I could have imagined. The set up was straight out of a fairytale thanks to @glitz.decor who came the night before to set it up with her team. The Nikkahnama I signed was custom made by the @qismatstudio who worked with me for months to perfect the design for us. The mehndi is by @sharmeendoeshenna who also has an amazing wedding playlist to jam out to for 6 hours while you have to sit still (ask her to share it!). Lastly, these breathtaking photos are by the talented and incredibly kind @photographika1 who was an absolute joy to work with. If you need a photographer in Chicago, he’s your guy.
