Last night @the.dresden was a total blast. It’s been amazing to have the chance to play in this legendary Los Feliz room after many hangs watching the great Marty and Elayne over the years. I love playing playing in a trio right next to people at little cocktail tables, being the music that can entertain and warm someone’s evening and maybe strike up a conversation on the breaks. It’s also an opportunity to express myself by soloing on songs from the book of standards, melodies that are old friends to me now. It’s a skill built over decades of drumming and it is my roots and my passion.
